James McMcMinn, MD

     Dr. McMinn re-defined healthcare in Birmingham, Al. with the first clinic solely dedicated to the practice of cutting-edge, evidence-based integrative and functional medicine.   
     Dr. McMinn  was traditionally trained and  board certified.  He has a solid background in academic medicine, having served on the medical school faculties of Harvard University,  Brown University,  Michigan State University, and UAB. 
     Dr. McMinn has two amazing daughters, and is married to his best friend and soul-mate, Dr. Cheryl Killingsworth.  When not practicing or studying medicine, he likes to exercise,  play the fiddle,  enjoy camping, canoeing, photography, exploring the great outdoors, and chilling with friends and family. 
     Dr. McMinn is blessed to be joined by Co-Host Lindsay Matthews, who is a Registered Nurse, and a Certified Health Coach.

Lindsay Mathews

Lindsay Mathews is a registered nurse and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. She worked under Dr. McMinn at the McMinn Clinic for 6 years providing functional nursing care as well as health coaching. She currently serves as a postpartum nurse working with and caring for young families starting out. 


She loves educating people on sustainable practices for healthy eating and living that fit in a modern, busy lifestyle. She believes that it is a fundamental life skill to understand how to fuel and care for your body well. Lindsay is super passionate about the next generation growing up empowered with these skills from an early age. At home, you'll find her chasing her two toddlers, making homemade yogurt, popsicles, and enjoying time outdoors with her family. Some of her favorite health topics include: gut health, Blue Zones, Dysautonomia (due to her husband's history with it) or just any integrative health topic in general.
